Copy Contacts From Nokia N73 to HTC Touch

Cross-platform, HTC, Nokia No Comments

copy transfer mobile phone nokia n73 contact htc touch windows mobile image picture stepsI just found out that my HTC Touch was funny today. It’s not literally funny as in joke, but all my contacts were disappeared. Don’t know who has called me or texted me. Sorry all! :D

I also don’t know exactly the reason, but I suspected that the contacts were erased when I put it in my pocket. I didn’t lock my Touch, so some buttons or menus might get pressed without I knew it.

The most annoying thing was that I forget how did I enter all those information to my HTC Touch. I transfered all the data from my Nokia N73 when I just got my HTC from T-Mobile. Lame heh? lol.

However, I figured out one way to this without using synchronizer. Why bother not using synchronizer? Well, it was because I don’t know how to do that. I have searched the Internet, but there was no answer.

Shortly, these are the steps to copy contacts from Nokia N73 to HTC Touch:
1. Copy your Contacts from Nokia to your computer. This can be done by using Nokia PC Suite.

2. Create a new folder in your HTC Touch. For example, the folder name is “Temp”. It is recommended to make the folder in the memory card with the biggest available space. Well, it is actually up to how big all those contacts file.

3. Copy all your contacts from your PC to folder “Temp” in your HTC.

4. Access the folder “Temp” via HTC.

5. Select one contact file and press Enter (middle button in HTC Touch). There will be a dialog box asking whether you want to save the contact or not. “Yes” is a must option of course.
I have embedded a short video to show you the step 4-5.

Actually, those steps can be done using any Nokia’s mobile phone. I meant that all contacts that can be transfered or backed up from your Nokia (any series) to your computer using Nokia PC Suite can be transfered to HTC Touch. I haven’t tried yet but I think you can also do the same things to any HTC series, as long as the operating system is Windows Mobile.
